I absolutely love a good truffle! But I love it even more when I know my chocolate indulgence by?Jacques Torres Chocolate?gives back. Jacques award winning reputation by his industry peers has coined him ?Mr. Chocolate!? That title is an award in and of itself. This Master Pastry Chef has become the first artisan chocolatier to start from cocoa beans to create his special hand-crafted chocolate. All with natural ingredients of course. So you can minimize the guilt that comes with savoring your chocolate treat just a notch.?Jacques Torres produces these luxe treats by combining his traditional French techniques with his vast knowledge and passion for the culinary arts.
Since opening his first chocolate factory in Brooklyn in 2000, Jacques has established five locations throughout Manhattan. I like to casually make an appearance at his Rockefeller Center store on occasion to get my truffle fix.? More specifically, his Champagne truffles, made with milk chocolate, fresh cream, and Taittinger Brut La Francaise. I recommend ordering them to go and perhaps skating the ?few calories off at the famous ice rink at Rockefeller Plaza or having your truffles at Tiffany?s. It doesn?t get any more New York than this!
Jacques has been featured on the Food Network, Top Chef: Just Desserts, and Chopped All Stars. He currently serves as Dean of Pastry Arts at New York?s The French Culinary Institute and can be seen working at the Dumbo Brooklyn and Hudson street factories.

Jacques will be participating in ?Savory and Sweet ? Cook for a Cure? on October 23, 2012, in support of the Susan B. Komen for the Cure.
He also donates his time to many national charity organizations including American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, God?s Love We Deliver, New York?s Hard of Hearing Association, Sloan Kettering Cancer Research Center, the Association to Benefit Children, Make a Wish Foundation, and St. Jude?s Children?s Hospital. He loves children and dedicates himself to causes that support their well-being and happiness.
